Vision and Methods

Bible in the Boro is currently operating as a home bible study on Thursday nights, but we have a vision to grow into a full fledged fellowship. The following items will become more important as we grow.

We recognize three goals as a part of our mission(or purpose) statement

1. Reach the Lost for Christ (Evangelize)

2. Train new believers and assist them in gaining spiritual matruity (Disciple)

3. Worship God with all our being (Glorify)

These are derived from the Great Commission:

Matthew 18:19-20; “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” (NASB)

and  Luke 10:27 “And he answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.”

We plan to complete our 3 purposes in the following ways:

1. Reach the Lost for Christ (Evangelize)

As a church body we will engage in evangelism in various ways and train believers within the body to do so. These methods may include out reach concerts, utilizing VBS as an outreach opportunity to youth and parents, working with Judean Missions when possible, and continuing the door to door and advertising campaign (Fliers, bumper stickers yard signs) that begin the original Bible Study.

We desire to speak the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15) letting our good works shine before men, (Matthew 5:13-16) and always be ready to give a defense of the Gospel. (I Peter 3:15)

2. Train new believers and assist them in gaining spiritual maturity (Disciple)

Biblical teaching will be done in a chapter by chapter, verse by verse method on all but special occasions to  promote well rounded Christian growth. When possible we desire to incorporate Apologetics training (1 Peter 3:15) Young Christians are leaving Churches at an alarming rate, in part this is due to not be given needed answers in advance prior to facing a hostile secular counsel, it is our desire to to prepare people to deal with powerful false ideas (1 Corinthians 10:3-5) especially young people.

3. Worship God with all our being (Glorify)

Worship will be intelligent and orderly as we recognize that Luke 10:27 includes our mind, but that does not mean it will be cold! Worship is an exciting thing when done properly. We desire to find musicians who would use their talents to assist us in glorying God without drawing undue attention to themselves.

Worship is more than a time of music, we also desire to be an obedient body in worship to God in all our actions which will come out of spiritual growth and biblical discipleship.
